Perry Plumbing Heating & Air to be honored as ‘Family-Owned Business of the Year’ at SBA Awards

Perry Plumbing Heating & Air, which has been serving customers throughout San Diego County since 1977, will be awarded “Family-Owned Business of the Year” for 2016 by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the North San Diego Small Business Development Center.

The honor, plus others bestowed to a number of small businesses and entrepreneurs, will be formally announced at a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 5, at Wyndham San Diego Bayside (1355 N. Harbor Drive).

The event is part of National Small Business Week, which was established in 1963 and is declared annually by the sitting U.S. President of the United States.

Perry Plumbing, owned and started by Harley Perry, has enjoyed a succession of notable honors over the past several months.

In October, the company received the national John Eberhardt Plumbing Contractor of Year Award from the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) and Delta Faucet Company. In December, it was among eight finalists at the Better Business Bureau’s 18th annual Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics.

Then a month later, Perry Plumbing was named 2015 Contractor of the Year by Contractor magazine.

The accolades were based on numerous achievements ranging from the company’s team integrity and its exceptional operational standards to Harley’s community volunteerism and his longstanding involvement with the Plumbing-Heating Cooling Contractors Association’s (PHCC) San Diego Chapter, of which he served as president from 2008-2009.

Harley is also president and founder of the PHCC Academy of San Diego, a federally certified school he launched in 2009 that offers two and four-year programs for apprentices and journeymen.

Perry Plumbing Heating & Air s based in National City, CA, and has 19 full-time employees. Harley’s family team members include his wife, Veronica, daughter, Anndrea, and son, John.
