On January 4, 2014 Federal Law mandates the wetted surface of every pipe, fixture, and fitting sold for or installed in potable water applications not contain more than 0.25% lead by weight. Want to learn more on how this new law is affecting our industry? Come to our Education Seminar on Saturday, November 9, 2013, and learn the details of this new law. Marty Tubbs, with NIBCO, will be offering so specifics of this law and how it is affecting the design and installation of potable water plumbing systems. This is just one of three topics that will be discussed during this all day event. See below for the list of topics. · No lead/low lead standards, 2014 NSF updates. · Valves 101 · Copper Applications- benefits, Copper versus other metals, best uses for copper. · Pipe Hangers & Supports – Sizing, Selections, different materials, general overview. Ø Harold Moret with the Copper Development Association, will be discussing the benefits of copper. Mr. Moret did a presentation at one of our meetings last year. I was able to see this was an interesting and well received presentation by the number of questions during and at the end of the presentation. If you missed that meeting, be sure to attend this seminar, you will be surprise on how much more there is to learn about copper.
